It is the first thing clients will see when they visit your page. So you need it eye catching, so that potential clients don’t just pass-by your .

2- Upload a Good Photo

One of the mistakes I made was uploading a photo of a computer keyboard as my photo. People like working with people they can attach a face to. So, you need to take a good photo of yourself and upload it. Make sure your face is clear. If you don’t have a camera, you can use your laptop webcam.

Visit: webcamtoy.com for a free camera application. (It is online so you don’t need to download any software)

3- Outline your Skills and experience

Go straight to the point and tell the client what skills you have and why you think you are the best freelancer they should work with. Always mention your availability and hours you can dedicate to their work.

4- Provide Samples

In this business people care less about what you say you can do. It is about what you have done. So even if you are a beginner all you have to do is complete a couple of tasks to add to your profile.

For example, if you are a Photoshop person, you just need to do about 4 great creative designs. If you are a typist, you could take screen shots of your Words Per Minute from different tests or programs.

What ever you do, make samples first.

And, when you complete jobs, remember to go back to your profile and mention them.

Additionally, As you place bids or applications, you can send them a link to the work you have done if it is online.

5- Grammar and Spell-check

However great your profile is, poor grammar or spelling will make you look unprofessional. Make sure you always proof read your profile or have someone read it for you.
