I’m new to the internet. How can I start making money online? Someone (Roc Y) asked this question in my inbox a couple of days ago.

A very direct question I would say. But there is no one sentence answer for this that I could give. I thought I should publish as a post for the complete beginner. Hopefully more people will find this helpful.

I remember back in 2001 when I went to the internet café for the very first time and asked the attendant to help me get started.

He launched internet explorer and loaded Yahoo. Then he showed me where to type and what to type.  I still remember that day.

So back to the question, I asked myself what if there are more people out there just getting started with the internet. What if they are on the internet just like Roc to look for opportunities to work and earn online.

That’s why I decided to take some time and put together this post.

Ok, let’s get started here.

Learn Computer Application Skills

The first thing you want to do is get some basic computer application skills (If you don’t have already). In my country, almost all internet cafes offer this training. I want to assume that’s the case in your town.

If not, teach yourself. Well… not like really like teach yourself but use the internet to learn. If you’re reading this post, I believe you have all it takes to educate yourself through the internet.

Uncle G (Google) would love to help. There are lots of videos on YouTube that can teach you what you need.

Below here is one of the videos you can actually start from.

After that,

Work on Your Typing

You will need to work on your typing skills. Boring, right? Yeah. It is. Working online actually involves lots of typing. You might say well, I ain’t gonna write articles or something like that. Why should I care?

You should care because, even if you won’t do articles, you’ll have to type your proposals or bids. Call them application letters if you may.  You will have to chat with clients. To do that effectively, you’ll need to up your typing speed.

I’ve worked with clients as a virtual assistant where passing a typing test was one of the requirements to get hired. Or, you may offer your typing skills as a service to clients online and get paid for it.

As you can see, there are many reasons why you need to be comfortable on the keyboard.

There are many softwares out there that can help you get your typing skills right. But my favorite is TYPEFASTER.  They have a tutorial that shows you how to get started with using the software.

You can get TypeFaster from here.

Once you download, open the file and follow the prompts to get it installed.

I don’t know why, but I just like the classic look.

Now,

it’s time to learn a skill that you can offer and get paid for online.

That's if you you don't already have a service that you can get paid for. There is no limit when it comes to the services that people are willing to pay for.

As you can see below, there are jobs in almost any industry. So whether you're a teacher, a medical person, or an artist. There is something you can do to get paid online.

I put together a free report on how to achieve this. All you need to do is follow this link and subscribe to get the free report.

In the report, you get to learn all you need to know about working and earning online. In addition, I show you 12 places where to find clients that are ready to pay you for your services.

I hope you find this post helpful. If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to leave them in the comment section below.
