Roxana Popescu is an SEO and Marketing expert in Romania. And she is in charge of the SEO Department in Servicii SEO Bucuresti.
Vince Comfort: Thank you for sparing this time to talk to me. So, tell me a little about where you are from?
Roxana Popescu: I am from Bucharest, Romania. I have been living and working in London, Mexico City, and Abu Dhabi. I finally returned and created my own agency of SEO in Romania. I am dedicated to creating impressive projects using my accumulated skills, after having worked in such a diversity of places.
Vince: How long have you been doing this?
Roxana: I have been an online entrepreneur for almost 8 years now. I had a full-time job when I first started to get some freelancing projects. Making new connections and being asked to help with SEO made me think seriously about becoming a full-time freelancer.
Now, I think of it as the greatest opportunity of my career. I find power in being my own boss, I learn and work with full dedication and lots of enthusiasm.
Vince: So where do you get your clients from?
Roxana: This might sound funny, but networking and being a people person got me many of my jobs. I also use social media platforms to get my skills and projects introduced to the world.
I consider working more with online platforms, I have a portfolio and a website, thus I get clients and new jobs from search engines directly.
Vince: Do you sometimes feel down, and unproductive?
Roxana: Naturally. I guess it happens to all of us to feel down or less productive. In my personal case, I think my personality is the answer. I am very open to interacting with other people.
The moment I spend too much time locked away from social interaction, I start to feel down. I am at my best level of productivity when I am in a crowded space, an office, an airport, or a coffee shop.
Vince: Wow… so different from me. I do better thinking in crowded places but when I have to produce, I like being locked away.
Roxana: Hahaha…
Vince: So, where do you get your motivation from?
Roxana: To stay motivated I avoid spending too much time alone. I love working on my laptop computer from some public space so that I can see and hear people around.
I love spending an afternoon working from a coffee shop, or a library. Also, motivation comes from knowing why I work on a certain project. I usually love the idea behind the project, and I get extremely motivated to help the client get her/ his dream come true.
Vince: Very true. It's the same reason why I love working with small business owners. There is a better reason behind every project.
Roxana: That is very true, Vince.
Vince: Do you listen to any motivational speakers?
Roxana: In terms of motivational speakers, I am a huge fan of Tony Robbins and Gary Vaynerchuk. I love to hear Tony's voice and I appreciate his books in an equal manner. Regarding Gary, I would call him a motivational speaker and a role model for my industry: online marketing. Gary is an amazing person, I get the feeling he is true, genuine and he cares about his clients, and followers.
Vince: That is awesome. No one does it better than Gary for me. So, to wrap this up, what advice would you give to the entrepreneur who is just starting?
Roxana: I think that entrepreneurship is a state of mind. Once you're an entrepreneur, you will always be a and entrepreneur.
No matter how difficult you think it is, there is always at least one solution.
Never look back, stay focused on the present, and dream for a better tomorrow. Also, be extremely well organized with your time and budget. Pretend you are your boss, assign yourself tasks, and keep a list of spendings.
