work online full-time day job

One of the most asked questions is “How do I start working online when I have a full time job?” What people don’t know is that the best time to start working online is actually when you have a full time job.

Why? Because you don’t have to cry, knock yourself or nurse heartaches when you don’t have an online client or project to work on.

The good thing is when you are starting out, you can schedule to work for as little as 2 hours daily then increase when it becomes a habit. Personally I actually spend 6 hours daily.

I do 2 hours after an hour’s rest from my full time day job. Then wake up at 3:00 am in the morning and work up to 7:00 am (that is 4 hrs); because my offline job starts at 8:30am, I only have an hour and a half to get ready and reach office.

Many times people say, com’on that is insane! Well… it all depends on your WHY? Why are you doing this? Why do you need to do this? Once you have a good and strong why, it is powerful enough to wake you up that early.

Secondly, do what you love doing? That is the easiest way of not feeling the pressure of having to work the whole day and start working again after an hour or so.

Thirdly, Only bid on jobs that allow you to work on them at your convenience. If the job requests you to work in a time frame that clashes with your full time job, don’t take it.

The best projects to take are normally those that give you a week or more to complete. That way, you have 2 days that you can completely dedicate to working online (Saturday and Sunday).

The truth is that starting to work online most especially as a freelancer is not as easy as people put it out. And if you don’t have a particular skill that you are an expert in, it makes it even worse! Why? Because there are many-many people out there with no specific skills doing the same thing.

That is why there are higher numbers of bids on projects that don’t need a specific skill. That doesn’t mean that if you don’t have a specific skill you can’t get this projects. -You can!

All you have to do is be better than your competition. write better bids, have better samples and most importantly, do all that you can to keep clients. That is how you become a better freelancer and take your freelance business to the next level.

I hope you got a point or two from this post to help you work online while having a full time job. If you found this post helpful, please share it and/or send the link to someone you think may benefit from the content.
